If you know you are about to experience stress your dose may also need to be adjusted. The following side effects are sometimes reported by patients using prednisone: insomnia, increased hair growth, heartburn, slowed healing of cuts and bruises, extreme changes in mood, headache, weak muscles, decreased sexual desire, acne, dizziness, extreme tiredness, increased perspiration, thin, or fragile skin. Make sure you tell your doctor if the side effect mentioned do not go away, but you can carry on with the treatment, as they are not expected to get worse with time. Take prednisone regularly and avoid missing doses and otherwise you may experience unpleasant symptoms of low corticosteroid levels. Report any side effects to your health care provider that seem serious.
